im thinking that fox would own the 2J 240 from a dig but from a roll i would probably stick with the 2J just because fox bodies can turn the fastest et's with the slowest trap speeds ive ever seen ha ha .

LOL I totally disagree.. Almost every 2j is turboed most fox's aren't. So to give a fair race a turbo 2j vs a turbo fox.. the outcome is a givin reguardless the race...

True very few foxes are tuboed but they foxed also have at least 2 more liters of displacement over the 2j. What im saying is that foxes are able to run quick times with low trap speeds because the are torquey and get of the line. Supras dont get off the line for shit and I imagine that a 240 with a 2j would probably be about the same. That being the case a fox that could be a 2j in the quarter might not be able to get the 2j from a roll because the 2j do have turbos and pull strong on the top end once the turbo/turbos are spooled.

How many twin turbo foxes do you see. Ok yes if you turbo a fox it will go fast DEE DU DEE its a fairly large motor with forced induction they all go fast.
Your average weekend racer does not have a twin turbo fox. I dont think the one in the video is twin turboed either. A mildly built 5.0 does not excel on the track because of its top end power period. 2j that can get of the line however will run like 13's at 130 just ask allen.

not all supras are slow off the line but mine is!!! the reason most are pigs off the line is b/c of a thing called power-to-weight ratio. that's why dave puts 2j's in 240's. simple math, my supra weighs 3550 lbs. dave's car weighs less say roughly a 1000 lbs less w/o telling the exact #. guys who drag know what that means. it's called power off the line b/c it takes less torque to get the weight off the line so the hp can take over down the track!! oh, and the main reason most fox's are able to launch so hard actually has nothing to do with the power they make, it's called suspension. there is no car that i know of that you can find more go fast suspension parts for than a mustang. every manufacturer is making them b/c there are so many mustangs on the road it is more than profitable to do so. i can take my stang, put 500 whp in it and go 12's or i can go mid 10's in it all depending on one thing!! SUSPENISON!! dont believe me, ask the stang guys on here or call jeff down at prospeed and ask him how fast his car went last weekend at steele and how much power he has. no bashing intended at all, just facts and as always my

Damn Son !! You have no Clue At all... I see these cars everyday.. The only reason why you don't see these cars as much is because most all of them go to the track... .. I posted a Pic of a Coupe in another Thread.. Its a SBF that went 10's on Motor.. If the car Was Geared for the Highway it would Kill a 600hp 240... Sorry Man !!.. We make 600-900 with 281ci 2v's.. If you would like to see a Mustang run a 240 Let me know, I can make it happen.. But I promise you will get your feelings Hurt.. I have owned a 240 and Yes it was Quick on the street, But at the end of the day a v8 is a v8.. CI is the Key... IF I DID another 240 It would have a V8.... .. I'll make 600+ on 10lbs of Boost.. .. And it will still have a Killer Power Band..

Power to weight?? Maybe ive been hearing to much bullshit about the almighty 2j but this is the motor that will make 800 hp on a stock bottom end right? by my math your average 600 hp supra (not to unbelievable) ha about 5.9 lbs/hp and if you have a fox coupe that wieghs 3000 lbs and has 400 hp (also not unbelievable) 7.5lbs/hp. Granted these are just theoretical #'s. Not to be a jackass but I do know a little about foxes mainly because my father currently owns about 25.( about half are junk). I know that suspension and tires are very important in drag racing and Ive been saying the whole time that torque is why foxes are fast in the quater ! Torque is not as help full at high speeds because torque=force x distance(nothing to do with speed) however power = work/time (does relate to speed) So if im not mistaken hp is more important at higher speeds. Higher speeds as in a 60-160 highway roll.

Don't get me wrong I like Supras But they are over Priced.. The money it takes to make power is crazy... .. After 10 years I'm learning where the real power is... (CI).. Looking at the trap speed, that car is not making the HP you would think... .. If you look into the car a Little more you would see the 60' s are low, YOU don't need Big Power to run fast 1/4 times.. Get your car to HOOK and your times will drop... :boobies: ..
