    Considering either installing Linux on my current machine or buying one and playing around with it on there.

    Pros? Cons?

    Linux is really a fantastic OS, I have many test servers at work running linux. I'd suggest starting with ubuntu as it is the most user friendly.

    yep ubuntu is the most user friendly for sure. About the only thing i have ever found a use for it is, is file serving. Its just never really tickled me as a daily driver type operating system and nothing compares to the MAC OS as far as I am concerned.

    ubuntu or mint, i like mint a bit better than ubuntu, it has a bunch of programs already installed for you
