Default motherboard component help...wtf is this?? ha

so i'm trying to hook up a touchscreen module that i have to my desktop pc but i can't figure out how to make the physical connection... the screen is a sharp lq150x1dg16 and connects to a epm-1580-1203 (pictures) on the old motherboard (pulled the touch screen from and old point of sale PC)...i can't find anything but a ton of spec sheets on google.

do these connections look familiar to anyone?? any idea what i need to look for, PCI or USB options for the connection? i don't see anything like it on the new motherboard. seems to be some sort of hardwired USB or VGA connection??

sorry the pictures are so blurry, they were the best of many that i tried to take...i left them big to show any and all possible details, no i will not resize them.

in the picture; the "busy" side of the pictured board all plugs straight to the monitor and one connection to the power supply. on the side with the stickers on it, there are two connectors that went straight to pins sticking out of the old motherboard...there are two 2x7pin connectors, the black square is just a cushion, there was a screw running through the hole that kept the connection to the main board solid....

beyond that, ask and i can try to answer...hoping someone can help, i'm more of a settings and tweaks kinda guy...pretty much a virgin at this 'building' stuff

Looks like some proprietary connection designed for a specific motherboard. You could probably try and find a pinout sheet for the connections but you'd have better luck using the old mobo or just finding a touch screen that uses a standard connection

X2, Companies will do this to keep people from mismatching their products with others and have you also buy only their replacement parts... Like Dam Dell does with their exhust and CPU fans...

well it kind of looks like a lcd cable connects to the white connectors in the pics. If thats the case i don't of any consumer type connector to hook it up. Manufacturers yes, consumer stuff don't know of any. You could prob rig something up if you know what your doing.

well I dont know if he really knows what all hes getting into.

    1. The pictures are terrible I cant make much of it out.
    2. Touch Screens are nice and all, and sure you could rig something up to get it connected, but what software are you going to use to detect any of the inputs from the screen to the pc? You would have to get specs on anything software related as well to make sure you could use some custom piece someone has put out on the web

the software is taken care of... i already figured that out and aquired the drivers and software from the old setup...but it is running a slow CPU, looking like i'll need to upgrade that CPU instead of trying to fit this to a more current motherboard.

    thanks for the help guys.
