I'm not sure, but I believe AVG missed this one.
Yes its good. Fucker shows up in safe mode before the logon screen.
I scanned with 3 programs, nothing... though the drive was attached to another pc I was unable to boot into it. The only time I saw the infection was when mcafee recognized it was trying to jump onto my pc. It did not find it on the infected drive.

Biggest problem, try to login, it logs right back out...
Not sure if its a windows problem or related to the spyware...

I would just backup my information and do a fresh install. Nothing like a fresh install.

Or install linux and you will never have this problem again

Man that shit sucks. It really never leaves. I have removed it from 2-3 machines and was successful only on one because the client called right when they got it and I told them to turn there machine off. As long as you have internet access the shit stays on your computer and corrupts shit.

I hate that shit! I charge dough an hour just to remove that shit.

There is a walk through on the web that does a pretty good job, but once its on your machine for a minute, you can remove it but it will come back.

I just cleaned a PC with this issue, hooked up the drive to my machine that runs Symantec Endpoint 12 and cleaned the drive, I also ran MBAM against it on my machine, then returned HD to original machine and booted into windows, ran MBAM again, machine runs like new.

That's what worked for me, it's worth a shot.

    Hope this helps.

You want a virus protection that does a good web, hard disk, system file anaysis and also has a small footprint on your processor. I say do a fresh install (like everyone else has been suggesting) and do your homework to find a good virus protection software package that wont dick you over like some of the ones mentioned. I use Kaspersky 2010 and ESET NOD32
