    Default Windows 7

Who has it? Who likes it? Who wants it?

I have had it on my laptop for about 5 minutes now and everything seems to run much better than Vista!

I have it on my desktop. I like it a lot. Runs smooth and fast. You need the hardware for it though. I'm running 8GB of DDR3, so anything should run pretty decently though.

You will need a lot more memory.
Microsoft recommends a minimum of 1 GB of RAM for 32-bit versions of the operating system and a minimum of 2 GB for 64-bit versions. If you plan on taking advantage of the Windows XP Mode feature, you should bump those requirements up to include an additional 1 GB of RAM.

I've been using the Windows 7 release client for about 6 months, no complaints at all. I'll get a real copy once the release client runs out.

all 7 basically is is that it has the speed of xp,the UI of a mac-want-to-be,lower requirements on RAM and cache than vista.it's basically vista with the XP architecture.......but it's still windows, lol.

Primarily being a Linux guy at work and partially at home, for gaming and etc I still utilize a Windows box. Most recently I bought a laptop with 7 and its okay I guess. I still experience a few bugs, primarily being every other time returning from sleep mode I lose all wireless connectivity. But I havent experienced one blue screen yet, so thats at least good. Performance is much better than that of Vista.

Got it and I love it so far. Never understood why people talked such shit about Vista... ran fine for me. And honestly I probably wouldn't have upgraded if I didn't get 7 for $30. If you buy hype, Vista sux and you NEED 7. If not, Vista should be fine.

As a CS Major I have experience in a lot of OS's, I recently loaded up 64bit Professional 7 on my Desktop, and have run in to a couple issues that leave me wanting, but it's all from things that are completely understandable. I built my computer over 3 years ago for a 64 bit XP box that would be turned into a vista box. So I've ran into some issues with compatibility of NIC's and sound cards but that's all stuff that will be sorted out with drivers in time when they get around to it. Other than that I see that it has a lot of potential! It definitely runs smoothly and effeciently.

Running 7 on my Inspiron 6000 Laptop since the RC came out. Runs great on my pentium M 1.86ghz and 1.5 gigs of ram. Had i not gotten it for 30 bucks for professional i would not have upgraded from XP.

IF your running a decent computer, there is no good excuse not to go to windows 7 at this time.

I've never had issues with vista, I've had vista since it came out till about a week ago when i got 7. 7 runs nice and smoothly as expected and I like all of the changes I've noticed, it seems more user friendly.
I have 64bit Windows 7 on my laptop.

Still running the evaluation of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my new comp. Have been on XP for a looooooong time, but when I got my new computer I had to get a 64 bit OS for my 4GB of ram and decided to try out 7. No complaints here, runs super smooth.

i've had win 7 for about a month now. personally, i haven't seen many problems for what i use at home, but at work there are compatibility issues with some of the things people use, so that gets to be a pain.

and ms gave the wrong key to my boss, so the one i had stopped working. *facepalm* it's fixed now, though, so i guess not too awful bad

I'm running the full Windows 7 Ultimate. Love the reliabilty, speed and new features. Way better than Vista. Love that it only loads services for programs on a need basis. Runs much faster on my desktop than Vista ever did. Only thing is my video card doesn't perform as well as it did in XP or Vista. But the desktop is old 2002 and the card is a bit antique GeForce 7600GS. I will be upgrading to a new PC this year anyway and this one will become my backup. But I must say Windows 7 is a vast improvement over Vista. Worth the upgrade.

Vista 64 here and it seems ok. SSD is where it's at. I need more space though...
