Looking for a laptop

Hello everyone.
I am looking for a laptop that is fairly cheap but can still operate games and will be good for school. I do not know much about laptops so I am looking for some help. Does anyone have a laptop that they would suggest? I am hoping to be able to run games such as CSS and Left 4 Dead. I am looking for the price range of around 500 to 999.

last i checked about 4 months ago, best buy had a toshiba for 699 that had a core 2 duo t 7200
3gb ram
and a nvidia 9600 dedicated video card

its not the best obviously

but for your budget its about what u'll find.

if your wanting to play games for that price range, i reccomend going with a dell xps m1530 on ebay you can get one between 500-600
or if you want a 17" you can get a dell m1730 towards $1000.00
