When burning a dvd to disk, what should the extension be? .vod?
EX: using the converter taking a .avi to a .vod? will it burn to a disk? I've been trying all day and won't work.

just use nero.
You know better; next time will be a ban.
You have a serial # for nero?
I'm using xilisoft
Nobody answered my original question, what should my file ext. be.
you are on the right track with the .VOB , i think there are .VOB1, VOB2...or something along those lines, sorry not much help, lol...you may also see DVD where you can download the .img file or .iso file...burn these straight to the DVD, it is just the 'image' file of all the .vob, etc...
i've always used nero...on there you can convert a .avi or divx file to be on the DVD...it will cut quality to make space, make sure you don't put too much on one disc.
if you're using the xilisoft that i gave you and you're trying to make a dvd movie, make it a mpeg4 format so it will play on your home and computer dvd player.
If you're using DVD's from Blockbuster, use:
AnyDVD to decode
DVD shrink to compress
Nero to burn
If burning Downloads (avi files) convert with either:
Nero or
Imgburn like they said.
Also look in to AVI2DVD I used it too a couple of times.
Best thing to do though, (if you're burning avi files) is invest into a DVD player that plays Divx files, then you will be able to put 5-6 movies on each disc, or even burn to a CD.
I picked up one made by Phillips with a usb port, now I just plug in a flash drive or external, and watch. No need to invest in disc anymore.
Hope that helps.
convertx to dvd is wonderful
dvdflick works great. if you torrent files, it will burn .avi's no problem. it's also shareware, so you don't need a reg code. i've been using it for about a year and a half. http://www.dvdflick.net/ It uses ImgBurn to actually burn the disc. There is no need to convert the .avi's...good luck man.
