Just wanted to start a thread to see what kind of overclocks people are getting
0v3rcl0x?
an AMD running at 3.8GHz, thats a beast
lol people on IA dont know what overclocking is.
anyways, I am gonna be getting a 720BE soon, so Ill post it up when i get some good numbers with it.
Ive tried some what to fig out this over clocking crap, but never really understand it.
Did you mean over cook? I over cooked some bacon this morning but I still ate it![]()

my overclocking days ended when i got this quad core.

quads can get real snappy in the mid 3s.
but then again if you don't even need it why do it.
I ordered a new mobo/proc setup, i will post up some o/c #s once it arrives.

I am currently using an HD4850, best dame price to performance ratio eva!!!
just wish I got the 1gig version, that way i would easily be able to handle hi-res texture mods.
I have seen the AMD Phenom 6.5GHz on a liquid helium and liquid nitrogen cooled system at a temp. of -232 degrees celcius. It had a finishing score 45,474 3DMarks wen all the tests were complete. The Intel i7 965 Extreme has been reported to have held a stable 4.78GHz on a liquid cooled set up and stay strong at 4GHz on nice overclocked setup on the bios. Overclocking just boils down to how much energy, time, and money you are wanting to spend on the system. Honestly, on a server motherboard, you can reach some pretty incredible speeds with very little tweaking to be put into it. My friend's system that i just built for her runs at a steady 3.8 - 4.0GHz ona simple liquid set-up.
The phenom guys are hitting 4.0ghz/ea core pretty easily. Especially the black edition phenom IIs with the unlocked multiplier.
My phenom II and RAM came in today, mobo should be here tomorrow. Gotta take a trip down to microcenter to grab a few things and hopefully be up and running tomorrow!
Yep its 1066, g.skill ram. I have read about having to tweak the setting to run at 1066. Im going to grab an antec 300 from microcenter, i like the bottom mount PSU and airflow of the case (and that its simple, i dont like neons and windows)
Got the system online last night, i had to manually set the ram Speed, voltage to 2.0v and set the timings. Im a little dissappointed the 4th core on my 720 is dead though LOL. It was from the 0904 batch but i knew it was a gamble.
