I just got a chance to read over this thread that got closed. This quote said it better than I could have and I am greatful that it came about. I guess since we are going through some BIG changes, it may be a good time to tell people exactly what my role has been with BG. I think a lot of peole don't know and have a lot of misconceptions based on what they simply don't know.

Dan XXXXXX Gets paid to drift by Maxis
Maxis does not pay BATLGROUND to drift. they pay each driver seperately

Tracy decided to focus more on drifting an her events company (DRIFT FURY) and Dan run the shop.

She still has something to do with Batlground, but not in the same capacity she did before. if you call batlground, the voicemail says to email them for contact purposes.

They are soo busy travelling an drifting , they really cant focus on running the shop like they used to. so they take 1 car at a time, and choose their work rather than working on everything.

FSN wants to do a show on Batlground, so of course, all that hard work tracy has put in, your damn right shes going to be apart of it. Tracy also is the one doing all the deals, working the phones, getting sponsors from what i understand. shes probably the one that got the TV show in the first place.

Dan is like the guy behind the curtain in the wizard of Oz. He runs the shop, doesnt talk to many people, tunes cars, and doesnt do the phone work or marketing. Tracy handles all of that.

That is what i understand, i could be wrong
I sent this PM to Kyle a while ago. It breaks "my role" at BG down. I may edit some stuff, just to leave names out, but you will get the point.

I have been with Dan 7 years. That's 1.5 years before the shop got it's start. I have been roomates with Dan since 1995 (the year before he graduated high school). We started the shop when we were both in college. I bartended until 4 am 6 nights a week, after I worked at the shop during the day for 3 years to pay the bills while the shop was getting it's start. There are no rich parents here, hun. All of our money comes from hard work flipping cars at first and then turning wrenches. Dan and I (and Brandon for that matter) started BG together. It's gotten way bigger than we ever expected. All 3 of us ate ramen noodles for years so we could take the Supra out to drag race and promote our company. The 3 that started it are still together.

I sold my DD and bought half of the Evo. Most of the parts were free or off of our Supra. We sold the Evo to get the Supra back together for a magazine build. I got us into drifting and started Drift Fury [it is my company]. I found drifting on the internet. Dan didn't want to drift. He wanted to keep drag racing. He said there was no way I was going to waste his money on a sport that is a fad. I got us the TV show finally after 4 years of non stop searching and sending e-mails and knocking down doors. I'm not just some pro-ho that met Dan after the shop started and that sits at the front desk.

I'm going back to OUR business because we both decided it was the best thing for us to do. We are a team and always have been. He turns wrenches, I make sure he doesn't get bothered while doing so (and that's by taking care of everything else). If for one second you think he doesn't read all of this IA drama (which is BTW the only forum that it goes on)...you are so wrong. He's my partner in crime. We talk about everything.

I hope you understand the point of this PM. It's really just to remind you that there are haters everywhere and most of them have an agenda. I don't have the time nor the interest to defend all of it. Sometimes I get a little caught up, but I think it's human nature to get sick of one or two people trying to beat you down. I try to make a joke out of it most of the time. When we used to street race, everyone was on our dick. That's even how the shop started. We used to street race and people started asking Dan to work on their cars. We can't keep up with the streets anymore. We have sponsors and a lot to lose now. So if the price we have to pay so we can race and get paid for it is to have nobodies slinging shit at us because we can't come out and defend ourselves, then so be it. We have paid our dues. Now we can choose the cars we work on. Pro drifiting pays the bills. That's a great place to be.

Thanks for listening,
Tracy
Some of you may or may not care. If you don't care, then click on I think it's a topic of discussion enough around here that I should address it. There are people who think they know the deal and they really are just making assumptions. Maybe this will clear some of it up.

I will admit that sometimes I am crass and to the point. That's just me. I know how it effects things in our lives with the shop and I am working on improving myself as far as all of that goes. Everyone has their personal struggles and they are usually secret. That being said, you don't know how far some may have come with their personal struggles

I would like to take this time to make some apologies:
1st I would like to apologize to Charles for the whole windshield thing. We probably could have/should have worked it out if for no other reason than just being nice...whether I felt it was our "fault" or not (not to mention I was drunk when it actually happened and after I thought about it...it was too late).

2nd I woukd like to apologize to Dan (IS300). I already have and he accepted.

3rd I would like to apologize to Will. You really don't deserve it but I would like to make peace and move on . I probably could have handled things a little differently. I felt pushed to the point of no return with the way you constantly attacked me on-line. Either way, I'm sure I could have done things differently and for that I am sorry.

4th I would like to apologize to the UP guys for getting off on the wrong foot a long time ago .

I think those are all the apologies I think that are really in order at this point.

I'm excited for a new start for me...Tracy. Not necessarily Tracy from BG, just Tracy.
