    Default cd player question???

    i was looking to hook up a cd player in my dads 79 malibu. the factory wires are pretty much shot. is it poss. to hard wire the cd player and rerun all new speaker wire?i have basic knowledge of wiring , but i have never done this before. what / how would the connections need to go to do this? i know the usuall power ,ground/neg.,remote,illum. etcc.....


    any suggestions would be appreciated.

    you dont have to rerun speaker wire, but if the wires are going out as you say, it wouldnt hurt to help in the future

    it should be labled for you..
    if your hell bent on running new speaker wire, all you gotta do is just hook pos to pos neg to neg on for the speakrs. it should all be color coded and crap on the wiring harness ont he cdplayer. i think the colors are green, grey, purple and white?? for the speakers, it should all be labled for you in the paper work with the cd player.

    yes i know how to hook up the speakers , i just wanted to make sure i can hook up the cd player and it work like it supposed to.

    if you give it power, ground, a battery line. and speaker wires. i really dont see why it wouldnt work.

    one more ques? im only running the two rear speakers.is there any way to combine the two front outlets and two rear outlets to double the power going to the speakers?

    no, do not combine the front and the back. You loose fading. It al so may affect the internal amp. Any good head unit will only really put out about 17 to 21 watts per rms.

    yea deff dont do that it wont work you would ruin the internal amp if its a new cd player if its really really old like one of the first ones to come out you maybe able to do it but it actually sends the freq. at different volumes if its a decent head unit. you may want to connect the wires for the front back there and cut the others off. and you wont have any problems running new wires as long as you do it right.

    what a useless post

    and yes you can rerun the wires, shouldnt take more than a day to so it, i did it for my 4 channel to all the speakers.
