    I believe what Smokin Joe was implying was that by taking a pic of your card's rear section, despite of not being scratched off, people can use it if they make out the #'s.

    A common scam we have at BestBuy is kids using camera phones to take pics of the #'s on the back of the gift cards on the front of every rack... and as the linked site shows, they'll periodically check to see if its activated. 100% real.

    or an employee buys a gift card for $300 at their discounted price (they pay $260) and then sell it for $280 & make $20...
    yet another way to be scammed/make $$

    BestBuy employees do not get any type of discout on gift cards... however, there is a bug in BestBuy's POS system that pertains specifically to gift cards and how to make them for free... but we won't get into that. =D

    this aint no scam..cuhs we can prove the amount in the card. if some one can come up with the money and want to buy the card just call me and we meet at bestbuy and just fcuking do the transaction there you get the card i get the money. and you can check the amoutn at the register or we can call..but in order to call i need to scratch out the number in front of u
