    Default 2006 Dodge Ram

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 4dr that I want to put a head unit in. I went to crutchfield to browse and it says that I need a certain wiring harness because my truck does not a have a lead wire from the factory. The wiring harness is $69. Does anyone know any tips for this or any way I can avoid paying that high price for a wiring harness? Thanks in advance.

dude...taking that radio out is a BITCH! you gotta start from the cupholder ad work your way up to the radio bezel. BUT as far as the harness goes, what you need to do is get the 2005 dodge ram harness (it fits - metra part #80-6502) then run you a wire to the ignition harness to get switched power. the wire color is purple/brown or pink/white. you can use either wire one is ignition and the other is accessory.
