    I'm selling my old HDTV because I replaced it with an LCD.

    The TV for sale is a Panasonic 53WX42 rear projection HDTV that I bought new in June 2002. I paid around $1200 for the TV plus another $500 to have it calibrated by an ISF certified tech.

    I'm asking $200 because I want it gone. You will need to pick up (I live on the second floor so it means carrying the TV down some stairs) as I do not have the means to move it.

    ISF calibration - ISF is an organization that certifies technicians to calibrate all kinds of displays from low end TVs up to professional displays costing tens of thousands of dollars and higher. Gregg Loewen of http://www.lionav.com/services.php traveled down to Atlanta from Maine and did the calibration on this TV. Besides doing a service level convergence he also calibrated the grayscale tracking (which fixes the colors, typically blues and grays are improved drastically), did lens striping (stripes of tape over the edges of the lenses so the screen is more evenly illuminated) and tweaked several other settings. You will need to redo the basic convergence after the TV is moved which takes about 2 minutes and is documented in the manual or I can show you how if you've never owned a rear projection TV.

    Good: The TV is ISF calibrated and when playing progressive scan DVDs or using an HDTV source it looks badass. Image quality is great. The TV supports 480i (it automatically deinterlaces), 480p, and 1080i resolutions. This is a PERFECT TV to have if you want entry level HD or you want a big TV for your living room if you have an Xbox360. This would NOT be a good TV to use with a Playstation3 because the TV does not support 720p.

    Bad: The TV has two component inputs for HD input. It does not have VGA, DVI, or HDMI. HDMI didn't exist yet in 2002 and back then VGA and DVI were only on high end equipment. It does NOT support 720p.

    Ugly: The cloth that covers the base of the TV over the speakers has been clawed up by a cat. There is no damage to the TV screen itself, just the fabric that covers the speakers. You could easily recover or replace it with something. You could probably even order a new cover from Panasonic.

    The TV is located in midtown Atlanta near the Fox.
