I read an interview with Sony's marketing guy and he mentioned that commercial.
He said that the idea was that the baby was experiencing all of the emotions that the PS3 will make you feel (or something silly and contrived like that).
It doesn't matter in the end. You would have to have cut yourself off from TV, radio, the internet, and people who play video games to not know that the PS3 was coming out. All the commercial had to do was serve as a reminder.
They could have put midgets riding billy-goats in the commercial and it still would have served its purpose... they aren't hurting for hype or excitment.
I mean, think about it.... how many of you would walk for an entire day or wait an entire two days for a meal, or to help a friend out? Somehow, video game manufacturers have gotten people to not only drop $600 on a luxury item... but also to wait around for days to do it. Behold the influence of the corporation.
Most of these people waiting days and hours for a PS3 couldn't be bothered to spend the same amount of time studying, or helping someone out, etc.
Yeah probably was one of the bugs... I think its rediculous that theres so many problems with it and they're wanting 600 bucks for them and the new hdcard that they're using isn't even as good as the 360's. I think I'll just stick with my 360
I think if I had been in the states I would have waited in line for a day but no more than that, I live in Alaska though and the demand isnt so high there, they come out in like 3 hours there so I could probably have my wife go and hop in line right now and walk out with one, she would bitch at me though so Im not gonna do that.
