for sale i have a D16Y8 motor out of a 1996 civic ex. motor has 87,xxx miles on it. this is one of my first sales on IA so MODS if i leave anything out, just let me know... i am willin to part the engine out. dizzy for $250 obo, head for $ 200 obo...anything else just ask and ill let ya kno about how much id take. pics will be up soon. The Good:
- oil changed every 1500 miles
- almost brand new dizzy...only been used 2 months
- comes with everything (flywheel, dizzy, etc.) besides tranny...but i might negotiate out of the tranny

The Bad:
- motor jumped timing & spun a rod bearing

mechanic estimated around 250-300 to fix it

$500 obo (for everything NOT including tranny)

well, considerin its always been a great engine up til now, i hate to see it go... but it was almost time for me to upgrade. but ALL parts are negotiable...most offers wont be turned down unless their low ballers.

also...i dont have the stock exhaust manifold. i have an unknown brand of titanium header. dizzy comes with an extra cap, oem spark plug wires, and blue NGK spark plug wires. no extra charge lol

maybe in most cases it wouldnt have. but in this case it did. but if u think about it, the blocks pretty much free. buy the head n dizzy , and u get the block...

but im just goin by what my mechanic told me. hes been a mechanic of the family for 5 years now, so i hope i can trust his word. he also could be wrong? but if u want garantees, then i garantee the head is in great shape, and the dizzy.

ok green91 i apologize... heres what the print out summary from my mechanic says...

-possible spun rod bearing
-timing is off
-no oil leaks


ok so timing didnt have nothin to with the rod bearing. and it didnt jump timing, he meant the timing was offset. the $300 estimate was to fix the problem
