Default Soon to be a new Volvo owner..

I'm picking up a 89 740GL non turbo. Its got 157K on the clock, with the only problem I see is a exhaust leak.
Now the problem I have is I use to own a 11 sec Z28 so I still have the need for power.
Should I build a turbo 740GL motor with a big turbo.
Or put a carbed 302 with AFR heads, and the bottle in it.
Or put a 2JZ in it...

Money is a issue trying to find the cheapest way to get power.
So far its looking the 302, cause I can put a procharger on it with a blow thru carb set up.

I can't seem to decide on one thing.....lol

Boost the hell out of a B230FT. Those engines are tough as nails. They can stand a lot of abuse. My 740 Turbo was a lot of fun. Do the 302 swap if you don't care about handling at all. The biggest thing to worry about on both the 240s and 740s is the weakness of the rear end though. Have fun with your brick.

Yeah that Dana 30 is a weak lean... I wonder how much power can be made with the B230FT? I need to find out who makes forged internals, then maybe put a T60 on it... 400rwhp-500rwhp would be nice for a DD...
