I finished watch the anime series 涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱 (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu) / The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Turns out that a majority of the scenes in the series were actually taken from real life locations that were familiar to the original creator's hometown. The transitions he made from real to anime is pretty impressive. Just thought I'd share.
