    Default Engine Problems

I was diagnosing my motor since I noticed my radiator coolant was completely empty after I just filled it up 30 minutes earlier. I revved the throttle body while I watched and all my coolant was sucked into my engine through my main hose linked to the engine. How simple a fix is that, I'm thinking it's a gasket problem or O' ring and I am wondering if I only have to take the valve cover off to swap out some parts. B18b1. I'm in school now trying to become a technician and any info any of you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

u mean sucked from the upper rad hoes?
you didnt mention having any leaks have yuou looked?
do you have white exhaust smoke?

well thats not good either way /. if you are getting coolant into the the engine your ricking fuking it up big time do a CLT to see if your head gasket is gone. and mroe then likely its not that simple as just taking off the valve cover.

No I checked for leaks around the motor, and ran it good for 20 minutes letting it heat up a bit after emtpying my motor and changing the oil. Then I flushed my radiator and refilled it, thinking it could possibly have been an air pocket. I revved it using my throttle body and heard the hose make a gurgling noise, the one that runs directly to the head. All my fluid was drained into my motor in a matter of 5 seconds.

Yeah, last time my head gasket was blown and it was the opposite with oil going into the radiator reservoir. I'm not driving it since I know it will mess it up beyond fixing. I'm going to try my luck tomorrow and work on it at the shop. I'm starting auto class at Gwinnett Tech and don't know much about cars right now as far as engine repair goes. It just started 2 days ago while driving to school. It's a new issue, and what would be the best place to look to find information related to this?
BTW thanks for trying to help.

The motor has 200k miles on it. I'm guessing it is a blown head gasket but it could be anything wrong with the head. I think the best bet is to just get a new motor. The price of replacing everything isn't worth the time and effort when I can get a new low mileage motor for about the same price and being less miles it will last longer.

Have you also checked your oil ? If you not getting white smoke its not burning it thru the cumbustion chamber . but might be going into the sump, check you oil

now when you say its "sucking all the coolant into my motor" do you mean the the coolant is ending up in the oil pan , IE its mixing?

does it ever drain back to the radiator?

Yeah I posted in another post the details of the problem. I made a few different posts in different sections.

I noticed the problem several days ago so I did some diagnostics. The coolant was basically sucked through the main radiator hose connected to the motor in a matter of 5 seconds. No coolant is ending up in the radiator mixed with oil which I have had happen before. You fixed that problem on my last car. As for the oil being mixed with he coolant that's basically what happened. It sucks too because I changed my oil just 2 days before this happened.

The dipstick has no distinguished oil marking it's all one big mark about 3/4 of the dipstick with beads on it, which is what water does when mixed with oil.

I'm about 95% sure I'm getting my motor from hmo since they do extensive checks on compression and all sensors and everything works. As well as the motor being very reasonable for such low mileage only 35k avg.

I'm hoping to get it done sometime this week or next and be done with driving my pos back up car. I miss my teg.

Since I'm going to Gwinnett Tech to become a tech this is a great opportunity for me to work with a friend and learn how to swap out motors.

Thanks for all the help and directing to good sites.

Hopefully I'll be doing some sidework on my car and have a v8killer
