beginner welding equip.

hey guys,
im in market to get a very basic TIG welder.
i was wondering what you guys have experience with and what would be a good *BEGINNER* welder.
i dont need anything that is $800+, again, i want to say it'll be for basic welding and to just mess around with.

i've a FLUX/MIG welder atm, but havent the MIG setup on it yet..

*btw, anyone know where to get cheap SS or mildsteel piping (mandrel and straights)?? i'm trying to mock up a manifold.

you can buy the mandrel bends thru jc whitney fairly cheap.

for even a decent used tig set up you will pay more than 800. good luck there, if you find someone selling them for less please let me know.
