Yep the worst of the worst has happen. On sunday I was driving the car cause I picked it up from batlground cause the people working on the manifold for the 35R were out of town till this week. Well I was getting on the highway boosted it to about 18psi ya know no big deal drive down a mile or so get off at my exit then the low coolant light comes on when I stop at a light. I go to pull over when the light goes green, then the light goes off, so the place i was going was only about a mile from there so i drove it almost the whole way there, then the car starts spitting and sputtering, I pull over and turn the car off, the coolant running back into the res was boiling so I let it cool off for about 5 min or so. I then go to restart the car thing it just go thot cause there were no leaks at all or anything, and then this huge cloud of smoke comes out the exhaust. Ok so signs are a blown head gasket which sucks but is not terrible, so i call volvo on call get the car towed to the dealer no big deal. I order head studs and a new headgasket. My buddy takes the head apart and all to fix the headgasket and looks down into the cyl and sees a hairline crack in cyl 3, 4 , and 5 in the cyl walls. so the cyl expanded from too much cyl pressure sucks. Now i am taking the motor out and hopefully the block can be resleeved and I will just do the motor build earlier then I wanted to. But if the block is not saveable then I will have to buy a new motor which will suck because volvo doesnt sell just the block or just the short block, they only sell a full ready to go motor for a retail of 7,000. so we will know whats up in the next day or so. A month before Nopi and the week before our volvo meet THIS SUCKS!! For all the people coming to the meet I will still be there the whole weekend. and maybe we will all take a field trip over to see her.
Still on the stock turbo.
