-Super cool .gif TO UNBAN JITB, JM, Buttons AND NEMISIS here-
question!!! last year i had to pay to get in the show (gate) and then pay to show for the event? i remember going to another show there and didnt have to pay to get into the track but did for the show (meaning i was showing) any info on this? I mean i understand having to pay at the gate if your going to the show to watch but what about who are showing.....we have to pay twice?!?
^ everyone pays a gate admission, but we build it into the price of the events, so you actually will pay once. last year we had people pay to get in then register and pay for the show seperate; but that got a little confusing.
this year everyone will pay at the gate for whatever they are doing.
sounds like a plan!
sounds like a blast, i'll be there.
2000 Acura Integra GS...sold!
i'm there....already took off from work
i'm there....don't know what car i'll have by then...but i'll be there

Why not the normal drag racing classes like N/A, Turbo, FWD, Etc?
I don't understand the closet E.T. thing, I could win money by running lower 14's with a stock car with an autmocatic because of the consistency as opposed to running a 13.8 and beating the slower cars.
Times???
ummm.....4pm to 10pm

it was designed around a normal test-n-tune... the shows previous to this at the track showed classes didn't work out, maybe we'll change the format next year if we get enough response to. w/ the format as is levels the playing field for most drivers. but keep the suggestions coming i would like to see what UP thinks considering they are the most experience track guys on the siteWhy not the normal drag racing classes like N/A, Turbo, FWD, Etc?

Fuck The "Scene", We have the track.
How about a strippers pole and the girls can all compete against each other
I will be there for this one Paul.
Why not divide the classes similar to the way some shops do dyno battles?
4 cyl n/a
4 cyl +1 power adder
4 cyl unlimited
6 cyl n/a
6 cyl +1
6 cyl unlimited
8 cyl n/a
8 cyl +1
8 cyl unlimited
and just to get a little more people interested maybe add:
2 door n/a
2 door with adders
4 door n/a
4 door with adders
You could compete in multiple classes and win in multiple classes possibly. Don't know how everyone feels about that, so I'll put it out there. That's 15 different classes that should be able to cover everybody from 100 hp guys to 1000 hp beasts. It wouldn't be fair to go up against someone that has power adders and you don't, just like it wouldn't be fair to be pitted against a purpose built race car either.
Power adder would need to be defined. Obviously, it usually means nitrous or FI, but you know how many ying yangs are out there so you wouldn't want someone running both or something. You also don't want to have a clear cut winner right out of the gate or people will lose interest. Most people like close racing. If you put some badass 10 sec Honda against a 14 sec car, it's a no brainer. People don't like to watch that. People would much rather watch (and participate) if they have a shot at winning or atleast placing. If you don't spread the field out a little, you'll have folks not wanting to do it because they know they don't have a chance before it even starts.
Either way....that's my .

AWWWWWWWWWWWW JEA!!! We'll be dur!!!
your kinda missing the point, its like a friday night at the track, except you are running for moneyIf you put some badass 10 sec Honda against a 14 sec car, it's a no brainer.
last year we got a great response guys were getting 8-13 runs in like it was nothing and we had over 125+ competitors on the track.... like i said before thanx for the suggestions we'll take it into consideration for the next show
Anyone want to caravan to the show from the Alpharetta area?
Ill most likley be there.
just just added a new award:
- BEST JDM ($100 cash prize) thanx to "Cool Cat Racing"
I WILL BE THURRR!! Of course VN has to support our IA boys!
If you're still taking suggestions - a good way was like Import shootout.
AWD
RWD
FWD
Unlimited
Most AWD cars are evenly matched - same with FWD and RWD, and keep the big dawgs in the unlimited to give the little guys a chance, LOL.
Val for President.
I suggest the same catagories as Import Showdown... very well organized and very well done... and I will also be attending this event with my new setup... ^.^

i finally see the confusion.....let's say i have a 13 second car....i am just warming up and i run a 14.036 which is the fastest 14 second run of the day but then once i get everything together and i work my way down to the low 13's and just for arguments sake i get the quickest 13 second run too...do i get both prize money or just the 13 second prize money? Say i only get the 13 second prize money....who gets the 14 sec prize money the next fastest after me? just now that i am confused i wanna know so i can understand....darn you ct9a gsr for dragging me into this!
can anyone hook me up with a couple flyers for the tunerfest show?
