Default A little preview of whats coming soon...

Here are some pics of my toon to be installed setup. I have a friend glassing the enclosure for the trunk right now. He should be done in a week or two.
Here is what I have so far:
    3 Arc Audio ARCv2 10D4
    Arc Audio 1500-XXK
Im still deciding on what speakers im going to run, but they will be powered off an Arc 4150-XXK once I decide.
    Here are some pics:

Now for a question. What would a reasonable price be to get the whole car dampened (probably about 100sqft of deadening), and wire up the amp and subs? Right now I am thinking about either going to Traffic Jams in Buford or HiFi Buys @ Mall of Georgia, anyone have any preference one way or the other?

    Thanks in advance
    -Jordan

If you want to do the deadening yourself try going to an industrial sound deadening shop they do stuff for houses but works just as great in cars its a fraction of the price of dynamat unless you can get someone to buy it for you i think its $60 for 36sq ft

Anyone know what sort of price I should be expecting. I am going to both shops this weekend probably to get a quote, but I just want to know what to expect before hand. So what would the price be assuming I use all thier stuff (wiring and dampening). Im also trying to see if I would save money by buying all the wire and deadening myself then just having them install it.
    TIA

I am not 100% sure on teh Price, but a bulk pack of Dynamat Extreme has a suggested retail price of about $250 for a box.

Contrary to popular belief, not all sound deadeners are created equal... some do outperform others. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish with the sound damping, 100sq ft might be a bit much. I can show you what about 6 gallons of liquid and about 200 sq ft of Dynamat Extreme will do for you...

To properly deaden a car, you might also have to look into sound absorbtion (spelling?) fabrics and possibly foam. Mass loading all the metal in the car is a GREAT start, but might not cure all the problems.

Check out both shops. I would think you could be happy with either Traffic Jams (my suggestion) or Hi Fi Buys.

On a side note: When you are at Traffic Jams, I might suggest looking at the Diamond Audio D3 series amps. Research suggests that the Arc Audio and Diamond Audio D3 amp to be VERY similar (possibly even identical) on the inside.

    Thanks for the info

Rob Zeff, the previous owner of Zapco is Arc's chief designer. He also designed the Diamond D3 however the D3 shares many similarities to the ARC KAR line (the lower line). The XXK shares many similarities with the Zapco amps. The XXKs are better amps than the D3s.

I would agree that Arc's Top of the Line (XXK) is probably a better piece than Diamond's entry level (D3).
