Default Downpipes on a 300zx Twin turbo

My friends got a 300zx twin turbo with downpipes, exhaust and intake and hes boasting that he can take me off the line, etc etc..J/w how much pwr downpipes do on a 300zx and if I need to be worrying. Someone told me 20whp..which made me question. That seems like alot for what they are.

It's gonna really depend on the driver.

Sounds to me like "you" bought the wrong car. Nsx's arent exactly made for straight line speed.

lol nope the most powerful engine they have ever produced is the lastest model which has a 3.2 V6 290hp/260torgue! So i think it would be a pretty close race, but you woul dhave him off the line if the drivers are equal in skill but over all i think his 300 will wax you! just my

oh and also thats going by you having a new car i forgot you have a 92 which is an even slower car which is only a 3.0 V6 with 270hp at 210 torgue! so overall i think hes going to ahev you any way you look at it. Becuase his car stock is way more powerful than yours which his is a 3.0 V6 stock at 300 hp/307torgue. So with you both equaly modded i say hes going to have you anyway going!

i agree, you'll take him off the line but @ 60 he'll probably be close to right next to you and @ 80 you'll see tailights

it really depends on how good he can drive really, so its just downpipes with stock mid pipes? and then upgraded exhaust and intake? or is a stg setup?

just asking, one of my crew members GeoZ32 of SM has a stg 3. 300zx (intake/full TBE/JWT upgraded ECU/EBC/ 15psi) and was close to 400rwhp. ran a 13.01 @ 109mph @ SDR w/out launching aggressively (z32 suspension is not made for launches)

so if your friend has a stg 2+ kit, it wont even be a race.

the reasons 300's gain a good abount of power from downpipes is because you are removing the precats with better flowing downpipes and yes i have seen upwords of 20hp by upgrading to the downpipes. just look on twinturbo.net or 300zxforum.com.
