    Default Problem

Alright my Jetta has been throwing some codes(random misfiring/misfiring cyl 1,2,4) So I finally got around to replacing the coilpacks which everyone was telling me what the problem was. It ran fine after that for a day just normal driving then the next driving home from work i decided to get on it pretty hard it felt real good but then about a mile down the road its started idling funny and what not. And now this morning trying to start it up to go to work it would start up for about 5 seconds then violently shake around then cutoff. So what is it now? gotta love the vw

Also common after an aftermarket cam install...

I had the exact same problem, misfiring in all cylinders though. Yea, that violent shake is the MAF attempting to send signals but instead of the on off signals it normally sends, its a flat line. I experienced the violent shaking in my jetta when my MAF went bad, and in my old Toyota Land Cruiser.

Take off your stock one make sure its not dirty, and since you have it off, clean it with rubbing alcohol or i was told carb cleaner is just as good, just dont do what I did and DONT USE WATER!!! also when you take it out see if any water drips from it, if you find that, their is your culprit
