    Default No sound?

Okay so i just got this car in a trade from a friend. I know for a fact that the subs (Kicker Comp) and amp (Alpine) work great. Only problem is that when we traded he kept his headunit and I kept mine, which was bad. I took the wife's out of her car last night to put it in mine (going on a road trip today for vacation) and the cd player worked fine, but no sound. I can get pics of the wiring if you guys want, but I was just wondering what may be up. I think all the speakers run off the amp, so maybe the amp isn't getting any juice? I know this much about audio.......Nuff said!

I would check to make sure you have the remote turn on hooked up correctly. Might be why the amp is not turning on or is it turning on just no sound?

Some head units have a remote turn on wire or you can use the elec. antena wire to turn on the amp. You have constant power going to the amp and then have another wire that 'turns' on the amp. This is the remote turn on since power is only supplied when the head unit is on. Maybe one of the resident installers will find this and give more information.

Make sure that AMP REM is hooked up. If it is just check the fuses and make sure nothing is blown. When you turn on the head unit/car does the light on the amp come on?

plugged in a sony h/u, and the h/u turns on fine and everything, but the power light on the amp isn't on and no sound...so it has to be wiring!

There should be a wiring diagram on the sony that tells what color wire is the Remote Ant. or Remote Amp. This wire is what needs to be connected to the wire running to the amp.
