Took this snapshot while driving this evening. Church has been abandoned for about 6 years or more I believe. Never seen anyone near it, driven by it at night and its pitch dark. Kind of ominious. Opinions?

Murder crime scene. It was a total massacre involving 4 teenagers a year ago, still the case hasnt been solved. Hence the no tresspassing sign.

Hey i've been there before. Its over by Birmingham hwy i believe my friend live right near that church! We went down there to change his tires in the dark, very creepy and scary out there i as gonna play on the playground but i was like no i don't wanna see someone pop up! VERY VERY CREEPY!

Did you see anything crazy there? Churches are strange, they're supposed to be houses of God but they're always creepy as hell when it gets dark outside.

ext time I go to NC I will take pics of this old school. You think this church is scary you should see this school. It has 1940-50 cars that have sunk upto the windows in the mud, 20ft infront of the front doors. I have never seen something so eerie in my life. Its on an old road built after the name of the school. So the school must be from around the 1850's.
I found it on google earth. Its called Murphy School. I typed in "Murphy School Durham" in google images, and it showed up. Here is the picture. This picture is a very crappy representation on how scarry the place looks. If you look on google earth, you will see the 2 cars buried infront.

There is more than what was posted.
This place was NOT the scene of any murder. This church is an old slave church. It was owned by a white man, back in the days of slavery, that owned all the surrounding lands. The man had the church built, by slaves, for the slaves to go to. It has always been a black church. They are very particular about this church. The descendants of the original congregation make up today's congregation. The church is still active, but, at the moment, it is being re-modeled on the inside. They have had many vandalism problems with kids going there and drinking inside and then tearing up shit. We have gone to the members on a few occasions to talk to them about getting the church put on the NHR, but no one will talk. None wants to help us get it taken care of. So that's the story.
