Default Paid $35 to NOT RUN TODAY lol

DDDDDAAAAMMMMNNNNNN!!!!!!! Who else saw me blow a hole in my coupler at the track today?!?!?! CRAP.

1st run - kinda shitty launch, ok real shitty, spool take off, 2nd gear POP.

Blew a hole the size of a half dollar in one of my couplers. We took the bumper off and couldn't fix it enough to run again, so duct tape and I go home. This is all a span of 5 hours. Got sunburned as hell too.

On another it was good seeing you IA guys run. I wanted to be out having fun with you all but you know how it goes. All part of racing I guess.

Two parts of this thread disturb me:

Jay, were you using K-Mart couplers? And why don't you have extra ones in your car?

35 fucking dollars?! Did it come with a free blowjob?!

    .
That sucks man. I had a coupler come off my J-pipe last week and that was not fun. Right after a very nice 27psi run to feel the new cams up top. Now I never leave without a ratchet and Husky (Home Depot) cordless shop light. Now I will add extra couplers to the list.

    BTW 27psi=55mph in the Eagle.

Anyway the first time I had an intercooler piping related failure it was at the Commerce.

Lined up next to an 03 Cobra 'vert. Launched and pulled half a car length on the Cobra. Hit 2nd gear and then BAM!! Car goes full rich, no power at all.

Figured I threw a rod. Limped to the exit lane. Checked under the hood and the blow-off-valve had been launched into orbit. It was hanging down under the intercooler pipe. Man what a relief. Got that back on and continued the ass kicking.

That sounds like an HKS Super Sequential BOV failure. I had the same thing happen with my CRX. Shifted into second, car fell on it's face. I thought the same thing. Opened my hood and there it was....up against the firewall LOL

    That's why I use a Greddy now.

Hmmm..ive never had a problem with the hks..If you have the correct bracket and good piping the bov does its job better than the Greddy type s....

I might switch b.o.v though.....too many people have the hks....i like the way the greddy type R sounds....

Man, if you knew how well my turbo kit was made you wouldn't say that. It is that fucking c-clip garbage that I hate. Give me 2 bolts and I am good to go.
