Red Baron Squadron to Visit Atlanta
    When: April 15 - 17, 2006 (Friday - Sunday)
Where: Briscoe Field, Gwinnett County, Lawrenceville, GA
What: Four-man Red Baron Squadron - The longest running civilian air
    show act in the USA.
The Red Baron Squadron(r) team is made up of eight professional
aerobatic pilots who have logged more than 48,000 flying hours. These
pilots fly open-cockpit biplanes coast to coast each year experiencing
the true romance of aviation. While performing air shows, the Red Baron
Squadron(r) team demonstrates formation barnstorming at its best. In
order to maintain the skills and precision required of this aerobatic
team, the pilots of the Red Baron Squadron(r) team attend rigorous
training programs that are comparable to those conducted by military
    demonstration teams.
Originally built as WWII training aircraft for the United States Army
and Navy, the Stearman biplane is one of the most respected primary
training planes in the military. After the war, many Stearman biplanes
were used as crop dusters. The current Red Baron Squadron(r) aircraft
were built between 1941 and 1943. Since then, the aircraft have been
slightly modified to include engines with double the original power, and
fuel and oil systems that allow inverted flight.
