see if you can hook up with a good dealership just changing oil and such to start out, some of them will help pay for you to go to school or training courses to get ASE certified.
locally gwinnett tech is great because they have several dealer backed programs like the toyota T-Ten program. if you want to go out of state, UTI is about as good as it gets.

I would love to work at a delarship cause my friend got a job at Hennesey Lexus and hes going to school now at the same time so I would love todo that. But if it dont work out i would love being a Dentist. However cars are my first choice.
Here is an opnion from a tech. If you are even remotely thinking about doing something sch as being a dentist go to school for that before you think about going to school to be a tech. It is not all it is made out to be. I have been turning wrenches for 5 years I love working on cars but I am burnt out on it mentaly and physicaly.

North Metro TEch is wher I went for my automotive degree. it used to be the Ford Asset program when I went there, it isnt now. its a co op program and the head instructor is awesome. I got burned out on it too...its been 4 years sine I was a tech and I am just now getting back to liking to work on my own car

I TOTALLY agree with him. Iv been doing it for 6 or 7 years and if you have any plans other then working on cars take it. I love cars but my back,knees,knuckles,fingers hurt almost every day. You have to be 1000% sure you want to make a living in this. Its not for everyone. Id make it a hobby not a career.

Not as many as UTI but locally no tech schools can touch gwinnett tech.....

Have you ever checked UTI's tuition? I did, 26k a yr. Truth be told, all school does is get you in the door and gives you an idea of whats going on. You still start at the bottom no matter if you go to UTI, GTC, wherever... you still gotta work your way up. I opted to remain somewhat local and go to GTC and ive been happy so far.
The UTI recruiters pissed me off coming into school and showing WRC and street racing movies trying to hype up their shit, when in reality they dont get you any further professionally than any other respectable school does.
I was watchin the race on day and say that there was a dealer sponsored school that would pay to have you trained at a two yr school...forgot what it was tho...
I got a full scholarship to UTI (full paid for my entire college career) but couldn't go b/c of family situations....
will the schools these people are talking about still be around by the time you graduate?
yeah i don't foresee Wyotech, UTI, Gwinnett Tech, Athens Tech and Lanier Tech going anywhere....
lanier tech doesnt even have an automotive program... just paint and body and that nascar program
well thats what i was refering too... just in kinda the automotive realm of things... besides who doesn't like Nascar! pronounced (n'S-k'R) i know i don't!
