ya def dont do free air. id recommend the sealed box cause i think it sounds the best. but the magnet on the back of the sub is big as hell so your going to need a big ass box. like the box ideal for this sub is big enough to fit two 10s in it basically
10 w6 only need .625 of air space for sealed box. They were made for small and tight boxes.

i spoke to a few guys at high-fi and they told me to go with a larger box. but i guess it mainly depends on the car --- and you said the the 10 w6 but you are talking about the v2 correct?Originally Posted by lsvtec_teg
Well, I'd say you're wrong. You should go with the dimensions JL audio provides.
Also don't forget the volume displacement of the sub itself. If you don't know what this means, you should probably have someone build the box for you.

oh ya no doubt. id much rather go with the dimensions JL provides. and i did jst check the site for the w6 and it looks the smaller is better -- but when i was at hi-fi i didnt see ne boxes like that. but what about the w7 small box or large? and the alpine 10 inch type X?
Go ask in the audio section. We're hacking this thread up.

Yes v2 The specs on ther box is what i said from Jl. If the box is bigger then its ok the bass will be alot loud. I used to install for radioactive car stero for a good while i know my stuff.Originally Posted by lilmanx01
