Since I finally found a project worthy of "building", I figured I would make a thread. It's going to be slow going and boring at first but plan on LS swapping eventually.

Heres what I am starting with:



Just an 88' San Marino yellow conquest TSi. Pretty much stock. Has the SHP package.

I have done a few things so far....there was the biggest stereo system ever in the trunk. It had to go.

Also couldn't stand all of the yellow on the front end so I painted the grille and fog light covers.





And just so y'all can check out dat ass.....

Looks like that turbo has ate quite a few somethings. I am surprised that vehicles still runs.

Thanks man. Gonna meet up with some guys from starquestclub this weekend and have them run some tests and such. They are just up the road from me in ducktown. Not too bad of a ride from woodstock. Gonna learn this car inside and out if it kills me.

To me it looked like a cheap maaco paint job where EVERYTHING gets painted. The more I think about it tho, the more I like the yellow. Apparently it's a fairly rare color and somewhat desirable.

May change the tag to "NNAPUDN"

Nah it's not a cheap paint job. Conquests came like that, while starion grilles came black.

And yes, It has been re sprayed once and had the nose sprayed another time...both done fairly cheap. IRL you can tell but thankfully pictures hide some of that.

You know how hard it is to find a tank with a clean inside for an 88 starquest??....there's ONE in GA and its in waaaaaay worse shape.

Go ahead and search....ill wait.

All northern cars didn't get beat up by salt. Some of these cars sat in garages all winter. Plus road salt doesn't go inside your gas tank and that's what matters to me. It's clean as hell inside where mine is not. Outside is a wire wheel, power drill, and a can of black paint from being new. I'm using my Bosch fuel pump and selling that stocker.

I'm not gonna spend a whole weekend traveling around and dropping old ass gas tanks in the hopes they aren't rusted out or the sump is clogged. Not when I can PayPal some dude $100 with a good rep in the SQ community and have it shipped to my door.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

So where are these 3 that are sitting??? I do wanna buy a few shells to part out and make a few bucks to supplement my build money. Serious as shit on that.
