Default Is there a need for powdercoating?

Reason why I ask is I was chit-chatting with a friend of mine who still has close ties to Georgia Tech and he was telling me how one of the race teams was so desperate for decent turn around on powder coating that they sent their frame to Yamaha for the paint line.

So, that brings me to the next question - do you guys find that there's like a 2-3 month turn around time on powder coating?

I dropped my valvecover off at Best Metal in Lilburn and it was like a 2 day turn around. That was last summer though.

No... But since you are talking about a frame... I'm guessing the powder-coater would need a really big oven.

I can imagine those being in short supply.
