Default TRD Supercharged Tundra 5.7 Lexus SC430

    Hello Import Atlanta People,

My name is Joe Vick and I am doing a build on a Lexus SC430. This build involves transplanting a Toyota Tundra 5.7 3URFE with a TRD supercharger into my Lexus SC430. I am well underway so I am going to post up a bunch of photos to get you all up to speed. Let me know if you all have any questions.

    Sincerely,
    Joe Drifter Vick

To answer your question yes. However, I left in 2009 when I realized what was going on with that place. However, I did play a key roll in the design and build of the 2 Infiniti G35's and the 1 Silvia S15. This car is my next build to one-up all the Drift Emporium cars. I think I am on the right path. Currently it is just myself working on this build so that I don't have any outside forces messing up to ultimate goal of this car competing in Formula Drift. Who the driver will be remains to be seen.

The TRD Supercharged and 90MM TB bolted to the 3URFE.

The TRD Supercharger bored to 90mm

The seat brackets made and the floor pedals are set in place. 350z transmission with Exedy twin disc carbon kevlar clutch installed

Trunk mounted radiator, fuel cell over the rear axle

The Tundra's massive quad cam motor barely fits.

The motor as far back as it will go transferring as much weight to the rear as possible. No accessories or cooling will be up front.

Super low seat height. To get CG down I made the rails as low as they can be but still functional.

ahhh yeah this is very similar build but with much better quality imo. Keep it up, and there's a TON of guys around here that are aiming to drive in FD next year. Let us know if you need help finding a driver!

I am open to potential drivers. However, in order to compete on a level similar to other FD teams it requires funding. Something to keep that in mind.

In the great words of George Bernard Shaw "The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

No longer to I go to the pedals. The pedals come to me! You all are the first to see my adjustable floor pedals. Why do you ask? Well, as with many of my past builds numerous well known drivers will take the wheel. I can't expect them to have to deal with where I decide to permanently mount the pedals. I want to pilot the car from the farthest back seating position. Hence, now everything is adjustable. It's really an awesome experience to sit in the car and adjust everything to the exact location you would want to drive it at!

    I know it's unreasonable.

This is an insane build! Definitely went into uncharted territory. A lot of the stuff in this build is one-off and custom made(himself) to his application: the marks of a true gearhead.

I visited Joe a couple of days ago and snapped these pics:

I would literally make love to that car... before I accidentally put it into a wall.

    Hey everyone,

Today I mounted the tach behind the factory cluster trim. I think it looks great. Also started making a template for our other gauges to be center mounted in the dash on a custom panel. I have a Painless switch panel that we will be installing shortly as well. Tried installing the roof panel and realized that the halo bar on the cage was welded in a not-so-ideal location blocking the front latches. Will have to do something about that soon. Here are some updated photos. I will be using an Iphone app for the speedo.

    Door bars IN the doors!

Dash installed and removed about 5 times today. Finally installed the Tach and readying the 6 smaller AEM gauges, Painless switch panel, transmission tunnel and staging brake.

That is going to be a consistent torque monster.
