Do a Schwantz school at Road Atlanta, we just had one today, always a good time.

NESBA also puts on a good bike track day, they will be there next weekend.

Pine mountain is 20 minutes outside of columbus. always packed with bikes on weekends. There's a bike shop and some decent places to eat up there too. The roads are curvy enough that you can go a relatively normal speed and still have a "thrilling" ride. Obviously your choice of speed is at your discretion.

true on that, couple weekends ago a few of the turns had clay all over them from construction.... put a damper on any hard riding. I've seen maybe 1 cop at pine mountain in years.....

Exact reason tracks are better. The track doesn't have grandmas leaky town car remains all over it or dirt.

Well, you dont just go to the mountain and go buck wild the second you get there. After 2-3 normal driving laps of checking out the surface and traffic... you can elevate your speed a "little". On weekdays, it's a ghost town and you probably wouldnt see another vehicle. On weekends, its 90% other bikes.

Plus, i clearly misunderstood him saying he needed to learn how to ride.

You can get "more confident" on mountain roads.

on a side note....... my balls are in my stomach just from watching this. Racing on public roads will always be a fascination for a lot of people..... sometimes it's legal.

More confident than riding on a track? No.

I understand doing a few recon laps, been there done that, but there's still too many variables that will either dampen your performance or cause you to lay it down, I've seen tons of bikes crash up there. One that stood out was a guy that thought he could out run a Miata up there...he failed...bad, went off the side.

Saw two other crashes that same day both of the others were dead, at least one was.

I don't think there's anything wrong with riding up there at all, like you even said you don't have to be riding 10/10ths to have fun, I just think to learn more and get the most out of the bike the track is where it's at.

You don't get to dodge trucks on the track though, like you can in the mtns.

Not as easy to keep up with a formidable car on these types of roads for your avg amateur biker. I've left a few bikes in the dust on the mountain and there's no doubt in my mind that my Silvia's "hot laps" would be faster than my bike laps.

Never seen one in pine mnt, far as i know.... this path is completely optional, there's no reason for thru traffic to enter. I understand the point though.
