    Default Mustang back in Nascar

I like this move by Ford and i think all the others will follow. It should go back to the days when the muscle cars was in stock car racing.
Lets see those Mustangs,Camaros, Challengers race again but I don't know what Toyota would do lol

The Mustangs, Challengers, Camaros, etc were racing in Trans-Am races in the late 60's and early 70's. They were never in NASCAR. NASCAR at the time was running cars like the Ford Galaxie and Pontiac Catalinas; this was in the days of real STOCK car racing where the term race on Sunday, sell on Monday came from. You could actually buy real production versions of the cars they raced.

Mustang, Festiva, Civic, Yugo, it does not really matter as all of the cars have very strict measurements that they have to follow so it is really just putting a name on the car and nothing else. I miss the days of real racing.

This was news back in 2009.

Was this the first nationwide raced you watched in 5 years or something?

Anyways, going back into the mid 2000's i hated stock car racing. But when the Nationwide series moved to a new type of car in 2010, i began to have interest again. Big fan of the Penske Nationwide Challenger.

I wish I was around when NASCAR was making you race cars that you actually sold at the dealership. I realize that if they did that speeds/excitement/safety would all be lowered greatly, but the term "stock car" racing hasn't applied for many years now.

What about the BTCC Ford Galaxie's of Jack Sears? Won the 1963 Championship along with a number of other Ford's.
