Default putting wrx engine in sell price

Does anyone know around how much it would cost to drop a complete 02 wrx engine in a 02 wrx shell assuming a could get a shell for around 1500 and dont tell me i cant get a shell that cheap because i already know someone who is selling theirs. I need the engine cost and how much the labor would be.I want a motor that has anywhere between 50k to 130k miles on it.

Im gonna guess an ej20t is going to run about $2,000 for the engine and STi is gonna be around $5,000 ish plus labor. And the labor will be higher for the STi engine since its not a plug-n-play conversion. Plus you havent told us shit about the car, do you have axles, harness, transmission, driveshaft, hoses, sensors, etc? Because you'll need those too. This entire post is dumb.

X2 mode as well go ahead and go big. You're already saving money by starting with a shell.

I will have the whole wrx even the knocking ej20t in it it's got 179k miles on it 5 speed tranny everything is included I am not planning on swapping it with a sti engine because it's a lot more work unless you had a sti shell I was just curious and I didn't want to get it rebuilt because I would rather just swap it with something with less miles

I've rebuilt an ej22t and it was by far the hardest engine i've ever built. Def get a longblock and swap it out.

I used to think the same, but until you need to open the block they are one of the easiest motors i've ever touched. Heck theres only 4 bellhousing bolts (well 2 bolts and 2 nuts) and one of them is shared with the starter. Now opening the engine.. thats another story. Probably would have been easier if i'd had the correct tools though.

Yeah that's what I planned on doing that way I would come out with about $4000 to $5000 in the whole car instead of 7000 to 8000 with just buying one with 130k miles
