So Mike Vick has the first season of his career with a QB rating over 85 and they throw 100 million dollars at him. In his 4 years as a full time starter prior to being an Eagle, he threw 46 interceptions.

I'm not trying to be a hater..... the man obviously has a very unique set of skills that on the right day are impossible to stop, but come on..... way too much evidence on this guy (no pun intended ) to invest so heavily in him after 1 solid season.

They should've invested in their offensive line more than anything. But yea I don't think anyone saw a 1-4 start coming....pretty crazy. They will figure it out though, too much talent not too.

ITs like i have said since Vick was here, he is a cancer. He is NOT A SUPER BOWL CALIBER QB. He never will be. Hes a jake plummer.

Hell have a few good games that make you see his talent, but hes inconsistent, doesnt have the leadership qualities, lacks the composure to be a great QB. And hes too injury prone.

The eagles would be better off just telling him not to run, and mold him into a normal style QB , and then trade him in a few years. Ill bet anyone $100 they dont make the superbowl in the next 5 years

I don't know, Mike. Time is not on his side. With each passing year, he gets older. This year, he is taking a beating. Knocked out of the Falcons game, bleeding and a concussion and knocked out of the next game with a broken wrist (or hand). I don't see him being around that much longer, to be honest. Later, QD.

Number 4 – Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles, 15.5 Million Dollars
Number 5 – Richard Seymour, Oakland Raiders, 15 Million Dollars
Number 6 – Elvis Dumervil, Denver Broncos, 14 Million Dollars

Lot of wasted money on that list.......................

The only player on that list worth the money is Tom Brady.

Bad call. Patriots without brady, still made the playoffs. Colts without peyton, no wins. Brady is great but he has the best coach in the nfl and always had rock solid teams.

And bradford is on a horrible team, not everybody falls into a great receiver like cough::cam newton::cough

I agree with the first part of this, I hope you are joking about cam newton having great receivers, he has steve smith, thats its dont forget they were total shit last year and this is 90% the same team with the addition of cam and look like a totally different team on offense...just another cam newton hater though

So we're comparing QBs based on how their teams play when theyre not on the field?

I'd take Brady over Manning any day. Not an insult to Manning..... as i would probably take Brady over any QB in NFL history and i think when its all said and done, Brady will be regarded as the best who ever played the position. The team comparisons are nonsense... Brady turns his WRs into stars. The Colts have had equally stacked teams over the years.

pretty good article comparing the 2 QBs....

In my opinion, the only reason Brady isnt already called the undisputed best QB of all time right now is because they lost to the Giants in the SB. If Brady won that game, best ever... no argument against it. He may still go on to win more SBs, which would also make that claim IMO

You hate cam newton? I definitely don't. But steve smith is the most talented receiver in the nfl. He just doesnt have the height, look at his plays and catches!!

BRADY TURNS HIS WR's into stars??? LMAO! Randy moss, deion branch, and wes welker don't get lessons from tom brady how to catch and play their position. Randy moss was a star LONG before brady passed to him.

name ONE year the colts had HALF a good a defense as NE did. Ty Law, Rodney harrision, Tedy Bruschi, Lawyer Milloy...... not to mention the best kicker in the nfl at the time.

when you make comparisons from one SINGLE player to another SINGLE player, you can't go by their superbowl rings. This is a team game! You go by how they play with what they have!

Again, this is a team game. Superbowls don't tell who the better quarterback is.

I personally like cam, I think he took money but what major d1 star hasnt received some sort of improper benefits lol and I agree more rings=better TEAM, not better QB, granted a qb def helps...this is another one of those arguments thats 100% opinion based. Personally id take a couple qbs over brady including manning, but thats me

A more accurate statement might be that Steve Smith is the most talented receiver in the Carolinas. Let me make that more clear. The most talented receiver in the NFL in the Carolinas. As great a receiver he is, he's not the most talented for sure.

I have to agree here. Take Dan Fouts, for example. He played his entire 15 seasons with San Diego. Not one Super Bowl appearance. But he was named on the All-80's team, he's a Hall of Famer, and a number of other accolades. This guy was a beast on the field. I'd take him over probably 90% of the active (now) QBs.

is it the teams fault when Manning throws interceptions? and um..... reggie wayne? marvin harrison? Adam Vinatieri played for the colts the year they won the superbowl, Dallas Clark TE.

Colts defense was #2 in passing yards allowed in 2007 (Manning's only superbowl), Joseph Addai rushed for 1k plus yards and set a few colt's team records

anyways, back to my initial point...... Manning makes way more mistakes than Brady, Manning has right at double the career interceptions that Brady has. Manning 198, Brady 109. Brady has the most efficient season of his career........... LAST SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! while Manning continues to decline. Brady winning a 4th or 5th superbowl is a very realistic possibility....... while Mannings career could already be over.

"Randy moss, deion branch, and wes welker don't get lessons from tom brady how to catch and play their position" Theyve all commented on how Brady is so accurate that he can "throw you open" by his passes leading you towards the gaps in coverage or away from the defender when you cant see him.

I would definitely have to agree with Brady being the best in the NFL right now. You can talk all day about Manning's genius, but Brady gets shit done and that's all there is to it. I do expect him to go down as the best ever even though that's such a tough call to make.

Steve Smith being the best is an interesting point. His hands/bodI still think Fitz gets that position but with the QB trouble he's had to deal with he has almost nothing to show for it.

In the carolinas? Lmao. Name 3 more talented receivers in the nfl right now. Do u guys really think we would be mentioning cam newton if steve smith was not there? Have you seen the plays he's made on poorly thrown balls by newton? You must not get enough chances to watch steve smith play, he is the shortest #1 receiver in the nfl and plays just as big as all of them!

I live in Atlanta where the major market is the Atlanta Falcons, so no, as much as I want to, I don't get to see Carolina play that often.

But I do have you here, though. Smith is NOT the shortest number 1 receiver. Later, QD.

The is no "them" to name. Just one. The above mentioned Wes Welker.

Edit...evidently he is listed in some places as 5'8, but ESPN has him listed same height as Smith. Later, QD.

Best WRs in the NFL IMO

    #1 Calvin Johnson
    #2 Larry Fitzgerald
    #3 Andre Johnson
    -------GAP--------
    #4 Reggie Wayne
#5 Brandon Marshall / Steve Smith

Cam Newton is doing just as much for Steve Smith as Steve is doing for him. Rookie QB locking on to the #1 WR on a team that throws the ball 40 times a game.

At one time i would have had Chad Johnson up there with the super elite WRs, but since Ochocinco came to town hes been more of a reality TV star than a WR, real shame at how little of a factor he is in NE. Finally gets on a team where he has a shot at a superbowl and hes the 4th WR option.

Qd we have had a lot of debates or arguments, whatever you call them. And yes I know you are wise about certain subjects.

But I hate to burst your bubble, but wes welker is NOT a #1 receiver, he's a slot receiver. No matter how old you get you always continue to learn things. Steve smith is the shortest and most talented #1 receiver in the nfl.

Johnson is the best receiver in the nfl this year hands down, he is on pace to shatter jerry rices td catches in a season, not saying he will, and to me smith is top 5 at best, and any and all nfl analysts will agree almost entirely with sinfix's list...smith is an explosive player but he will never win a super bowl ring and sadly thats how alot of WRs are judged. Megatron ftw

No bubble busted, man, so it's all good. Welker is a receiver. So he and Smith ARE tied for shortest receiver.

But why are we even discussing this? This is supposed to be about the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles, lolol. Later, QD.

I agree with the first part of this. It takes years to get that ranking. Steve Smith isn't even one of the best right now. He keeps putting up the numbers he has been, though, he damn sure will be. Also, Johnson isn't really even better than Smith this year. He has more TD receptions and that's about it. Smith dominates Johnson statistically.

The second part is pure speculation on your part. Sure Smith went to the SB, but it really doesn't mean too much if you can't complete the task. To say Johnson will never make it is kind of risky. I think he'll end up there. I doubt it will be with the Lions, but he'll make it. Later, QD.

I'm surprised so many people are sleeping on these Lions.... theyve put together a solid squad. I think too many people remember their father's Lions and think that theyre still Barry Sanders and a few guys they found in the parking lot. That's not the case anymore.... if Fairly develops into a half way decent player, the Lions will easily have the best Dline in NFL. They already do have the best WRs in the NFL. No reason to think young Matthew Stafford wont continue to get better. I think the Lions are legit, theyve got a lot of promising young talent. Theyre not the team this year, but theyre a lot closer than the Eagles are IMO.

I will agree with the first part, but THIS YEAR johnson is doing more for his team than smith, hence why the lions have more wins than the panthers right now...and smith went to a super bowl and lost johnson will make it to a super bowl, no doubt in my mind at all
