    Default IA Ski Trip...?!

How about a weekend trip up to Sugar Mtn. in Boone, NC? Sometime in January, maybe later in the month so we'll pretty much be guaranteed to have tons of snow...

I know of a decent place a few miles from the mountain to stay and they rent out all the equipment there too so you don't have to stand in line forever on the slope to get old wore out equipment (we can get rooms there last minute)...BUT last year someone posted about having a time share cabin up there??? ...i can't search back that far since we switched forum setups and got hacked.

I think we should just go ahead and get one of the octogon cabins just feet off the slope so everyone has a place to hang out, eat, rest, etc. all day and night and then have a killer party on the deck...that's why i'm posting this so early because i know i'll need to to reserve one of those ASAP if that's what everyone wants to do.

Depending on the amount of people, cost is normally about $120-175 for a weekend (1 night and 1, maybe, 2 days). That would include your lodging, food, rental for those that need it, and help out with gas for whoever drives, etc....

Fucc that. My grandparents own a city(yes, I said city) just NW of Bristol where the Appalachian Mtns run through the middle. I won't pay for shit. Later, QD.

What slopes are near it? The idea's basically just drawn out on a napkin and there is still plenty of room for any suggestions...

Ski Beech is one of the more popular ones, but there about 6-7 places within 50 miles of our houses.

Here is a live web-cam of Sugar Mtn. Later, QD.

I just go snow-boarding on the mountain behind the main house. I don't ski. Later, QD.

sugar mtn and beech mtn are only a few minutes from each other.

the high speed lift at beech rocks, but i like the slopes at sugar better. can always hit both in the same day though.

sugar, beech, hawksnest, wolf laurel, appalachian, etc. tons of them are all together...used to go to cataloochee all the time because it's closer. Like i said, this is the planning stages and i'm just testing waters...hoping someone knew of some good deals
