Default Thanks import atlanta for ATL Drift Expo

I would like to say thank you for the awsome event held at turner field.
Eventhough it was cold, it did not stop us from having a great slide time. The course layout was amazing and definate challenge. Congrats to the winners and hope to see you again next event.

PS. The tandem drift expo at the end of the day was amazing.

No kidding. This event lived up to some high expectations and some stiff competitors (SEDA, DGTrials). The seat time was good, the track layout was great (except for the super slow S turn at the end) and the 4 car tandem shit that was going on at the end of the day was insane. I expected things to be a lot more disorganized than they were.

Joey you lived up to your word on this one by saying "The biggest amateur drifting series around". If every event you guys put on holds up like this one that saying will be very true very fast.

Only negative feedback I can think of, would be that little S turn at the end of the track and qualifying at the end of the day was a little disorganized.

    Thanks for a great event.

Thank you for providing the press pass. This was my first all day drift event I attended and loved every second of it.

I wish I could have made it out, after staying up with Brandon at BG till 4 am for the last 4 nights in a row, I still couldnt get the car finished, of course the lack of sleep also meant that I couldnt walk or complete a sentence the next morning, so I stayed home to get some sleep.

If those are the only negatives about the event then that is great, I guess they did a good job with their first event.

I had a great time as well. We got much more seat time than I expected and I was amazed that we were able to get everything accomplished before 6pm. Thanks to everyone that helped out and was involved in putting this together.

I'd like to congratulate Andy Sapp. Not only did he place 3rd, but he manage to mutilate himself during the award ceremony! I'm glad Grady Hospital was able to jump in on the sponsorship and award the 3rd place winner a free ride in an ambulance and a few stitches!

    Congrats!!!!

yup, i had a blast as well (with the exception of my POS car's stupid electrical issues that decided they'd suddenly happen during the judged runs, but oh well). thanks again to everyone who made this possible though, and can't wait for more next year!

I had a great time collecting cones and telling people to get wrist bands...

I was very impressed with a lot of the drivers especially the amateurs. I mean I only almost got hit once the entire day.

I had several that got close while I was taking pics. The winner hands down was Dan tho. He basically stopped right where I was standing. Thanks dan for the scare

I think Allen was trying to hit us a couple times.

Also the guy who was taking pictures on my corner almost got nailed a ton of times.

It was bad because I'd see close calls then hear the drifters start laughing.

Are you talking about the guy with the tripod, on that corner where yall were working? that dude had no fear at all. I saw him almost get hit a couple times, and then he just lights his cigarette like nothing was going on. haha

    Yea.

There was some s13 with some flat black body panels and some other panels that were blue that literally came within inches of him. The guy just stood there and watched and like with the most delayed reaction ever moved his tripod after the car slid by.

Yeah I stayed in the same area all day since that is where they really had the most speed and best angles (well most of them) and got some great pics. That and I had a huge light pole to act as a blocker if they started coming right at me, lol.

I do have one pic, it is a little blurry (night time with zoom sucks) of Andy when he spun out and drove between George and the other guy with a tripod. All in all I loved every minute of it even tho it was freakin cold.

Oh and Matt, nice to meet ya.

I had a great time getting all of those cones and coming close to getting hit. It was a great turn out. I missed out on the party, but I still managed to downtown and hit up the clubs.

Nice work Andy, it was fun watching you and Marty really tear it up all day long. Harry pretty much KILLED it towards the end of the day, so congrats to him too. I had it scored a lil' bit differently, but I wasn't a judge so w/e. Krissy was being stalked by an S2K for most of the day, so that also served as entertainment! LOL. All in all a fun day, and Matt was kind enough to let us invade his house into the wee hours of the night, hehe. BTW Matt, is it me or are Dan and Tracy really funny drunks? Tracy is the life of the party! I wouldn't dream of not inviting those two to one of my parties...or a wedding, lol! Infact, I'd probably let Tracy plan all the "late night festivities" hehe. Oh, I hope everyone thanked Dan for all those crunchy hamburgers, if not, make sure you do!

Damn I wanted to. I had to go to some play for school.

I wanted more than anything to see that one mark III supra from last time understeer, hop the curb, and take out the bums standing on the sidewalk trying to get in free.

I also had to regulate on this homeless guys who went to the parking lot and started charging people to get in. For anyone that paid for parking, you got owned by a sneaky hobo.

I came very close to hitting him as well... and well... I started laughing after the spin too... The problem was, there's a little dip just before where he was standing, so a lot of cars, especially the short wheel base ones would spin right there after trying to transition into the next corner and having all the weight taken off the rear wheels... I think I actually hit the cone he was standing behind... started laughing, dumped the clutch in first and took off.
