Although Dominique was probably the best player the Hawks ever had, I just don't see him as Hall of Fame material. He's more my favorite than Jordan. Later, QD.

yeah....he was a valuable player and brought alot of fans to see the team, but statistly...he was the best or top notch shall we say...so...i mean he should be in for his showmanship and his value toward the hawks...but stats, dont quite make it...now QD on the other hand...is a shoe in...who voted against him?

something that i think hurts 'nique are his 6 post hawks seasons:

started trailing off when he was traded to the clippers in '94

signed with boston for a season after that

then went to greece for a season

then came back to the spurs for a season

then went to italy for a season

then came back to play for orlando.

like most hall of fames, the sportswriters do the voting... likely the sportswriters feel that 'nique shunned the nba by going to europe to play... and perhaps this is somewhat of getting him back. i think he'll make it eventually... he's only 1 of 12 players to score over 25,000 points in an nba career, and his average of 25.3 points per game is 10th all time.

if 'nique would have played for the lakers, knicks, celtics, sixers, or any team with a real fan base not like atlanta people he would have gotten more attention and been in with no problem. atlanta just isn't the place to strive on the athletic field. and let's not start with the braves.
