I'm not a fan of them at all. Aren't the windows "manual" roll down? Perhaps just the rear? It may be fast and all, but it lacks some comforts that are needed.

IIRC, that would be to save on weight. Later, QD.

from the few times i got to drive a stock one, pretty smooth torquey power, handling is decent but could use some upgrades, stock motor is pretty stout, and for the price it's a definite contender.

What is the reason you want to get one?

If it is to go fast for cheap with a newer car then yea get a SRT4.

If it is for any other reason I'd probably check out some other cars.

Don't get me wrong tho, I'd probably buy one if I wanted a new car that was cheap and quick.

Those cars can take massive power before needing to upgrade engine internals.

For the money though, buy the 530whp hatch that's for sale on the IA Classifieds and save yourself a couple thousand dollars.

I just got my srt4 and havent even had it a month. I love the car. I use to have a Mazda MP3 that would handle great, so I do miss the handling aspect, but I can upgrade the suspension on the srt later on. I dont really care much about the back windows being roll down b/c I dont use them plus I have a sunroof. It's definately a blast to drive though.

    i <3 srt4's

    2.4L motor w/ a 16g turbo stock

My buddy has one and I love his car... w/ just a mbc and no cat-back, he pulls away from BPU FD's, stock evo's, minorly mod'd evo's, stock sti's, stock '05 m3's, stock c5's, etc. etc. etc. all day long from a roll.

From a stop, wheel hop is your worst enemy.

For the money and ease, those cars are amazing... assuming the main thing you care about is performance in a straight line.

whats even better is that Dodge offers performance upgrade packages - up to like a Stage 3? - and they install them at the dealership, and it all stays under warranty too

so a stage 3 engine thats still under warranty? awesome in my view

I could be wrong, but I thought that anything after the stage 1 voided warranty. I thought that only the stage 1 was ok. But would definatley like to know the answer if anyone else knows.

even stg 1 can void your warrenty....as for issues with the car, lots of ppl had probs with the TPS wiring. I've had mine for 28k now, no probs that are serious at all. Only prob I've had is the boost gauge went out, but it was covered under warrenty. The engine is super stout. When my gauge went out I had a full exhaust and TB put on, it free'd up a lot more flow, and I ended up boosting 25+ for a week and a half. When I finaly realized it, no harm was really done, short of making the turbo's life shorter I guess(i'm still running the stock turbo to this day.) So what the back windows are manual....how often do you ride in the back seat? For the money it's a great car, lots of fun.

No way. Automatic windows are essentially the same weight or even lighter than their manual counterparts nowadays.

I think it's a pretty dumb oversight on Dodge's part, but nobody's going to buy an SRT-4 for rear passenger comfort.

However, every time I pull up alongside an SRT-4, I roll down my rear windows down and up a few times, so no matter what happens, I already have a little victory.

I'm pretty much batting 100% on rear window roll-down races against SRT-4's.
