Default Lude cranking on its own

I have a 92 prelude si and this morning as i go to start the car, it didnt crank the 1st time..nothing out of the ordinary, but as i was about to give it another turn, it cranked on its own and was running really crappy and making screeching noises..so i try to turn it off and it wouldnt cut out!! .i pulled the keys out and IT KEPT TRYING TO TURN OVER!!
i had to unplug the battery terminal...
and everytime i try to connect it, it trys to start on its own...

    where should i start?

I agree. My dad had a car that did this and he rewired the whole thing. If I can, I will get details on the exact problem.

    get this fix soon son
a guy from my school civic did this and it end up with a fire.
a hot wire was cut open and touching his starter. since the key wasnt on, engine wasnt getting fuel so it wont fire up, but it'll just keep turnning
EASIEST WAY TO FIND THIS OUT IS TO WAIT TILL DARK AND HOOK THE BATTERY UP, YOU'LL SEE WHERE ITS SPARKING

Do you have a security system?? When I bought my '97 lude it had a shitty alarm system with remote start. It turns out the remote start was acting up and tried to start it on its own.

ur starter /ignition switch if fucked. prolly your starter grinding was the screeching noise.u have to disconect your battery to stop it cuz ur switch is stuck on start.

X2 on Remote Start. I would push the remote start while walking to the car, it would make a click sound which I think was the fuel pump getting power, but didnt crank. I'd sit down, close the door, and all the sudden it'd crank itself.

Preludes are a whole different Ballgame.
