    Default Joe Sestak

I cant believe there hasnt been a thread about this yet.

I guess I'll make it a poll so we can see where people stand. What say you and what is your reasoning.

I am saying the White House tried to bribe him and there should be a formal investigation opened by an independent agency, such as the FBI.

I agree. The facts I find hard to believe is that Clinton called him and talked to him about it. Now that I believe...but what gets me was that were did Clinton have the power to promise him a job...unless someone from the White House had a hand in it. That phone call was not as a friend to a friend it was a bride from people in the Democratic circle.

The WH has already come out and admitted that Rahmbo asked Clinton to relay the offer. It is a word for word violation of US Code. That is, if you actually believe the story that the WH is passing alsog. You know, the one that took them 3 months to figure out after this wouldnt go away.

As I understand it the "job" they were offering him was unpaid. He was just going to sit on a panel on an advisory board. Since Sestak wasn't going to profit from the offer monetarily I really don't see how that violates anything.

I'm sure the GOP does the same thing behind closed doors, as they are all career politicians too. A political party is a lot like a union where those with seniority get all the work. They are going to do all they can to shield their incumbents from primary challengers.

I'm on my BB so I can't post links til I get home but from what I understand the board that was offered to him was not available to a member of congress.

To the point that it was unpaid is pointless. It was the promise of a job in reurn for a political favor. Compensation means nothing.

I also agree that both sides of the aisle do this. This is a big reason we have such incompetance among federal and state agencies.

When Sestak came out and openly said it, it enters a new light and IMO it cannot simply be ignore under the pretense that everyone does it.

Finally, I don't believe the WH story. If it was this simple the story would have come out MUCH sooner. This entire thing reeks of a cover up.

Agreed, and it needs to stop somewhere. Sadly career politicians will never be willing to change this, nor will the mostly ignorant public because they don't know any better.

How many people have seen the clip with Larry Kane interviewing Sestak? It comes straight out of his mouth that he was offered a job by the WH.

Not only Sestak, but to Andrew Romanoff from Colorado as well - in order to keep him from running against his fellow democrat.

    Seems this story isnt dead.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010...-race-specter/

A few months ago the WH said they were well within rules when they asked Clinton to try to bribe Sestak out of the race. Now it seems that Clinton wasnt part of it.

How many cases of bribery do we need to see from the WH and congress before we start seeing the push back? I know I am sick of it and I am even more pissed that an outside agency isnt given the authority to investigate. Can you really expect a political appointee to investigate his boss or party without bias? That is exactly ehat happened when Holder said there was no reason to investigate.
