    Lightbulb Noob @ Nissan/infiniti, Question on G20 Transmission???

    okay i really dont know much about the engine codes and tranny codes i know the car has a sr20 (i belive lol) its a 1992 G20 and the tranny went bad on me so now i am looking to replace it but i wanted to know if theres certain ones that fit or only 92 gen g20 trannys

    You should be able to use any of the SR20DE transmissions. G20, 200SX SE-R

    the 00+ trans from the RR motors are more stout......better trans. but like he said any FWD SR20DE will work.....with alot more work and a p12 bellhousing you could even put in a 6 spd trans from a spec v. this is alot more involved though.....
