Default Help!! 2000 Honda Civic A/C question? Can the car run without a belt on the a/c comp

    Hello IA,

Thanks for your help in advance!

I'm pretty sure you can but just wanted to see if i would be running into any other issues by doing this...

I have a 2000 honda civic lx and my a/c compressor starting making noise - blows ice cold a/c but rattling noise when i turn it on.

I popped the hood and checked and its actually shaking around when i turn on the a/c.

    Here is the question!

Can i just cut the a/c belt going to the a/c compressor without causing any other issues with the car?

    Thanks to everyone with advice.

I hate to loose a/c but its hard times and i'll have to get it fixed down the road - lol

yes... i ran my car for about a year and half like that!

nothing at all will happen to your AC either.. might just need to get it recharged if you hook it back up
