    "ten letters" is ten letters, and this is ten words.

    EDIT: To all the people picking apart my post, wth is wrong with you people, .

    When i ask how many words are in the sentence "I love you"......3 not 5, cause you count the spaces as a word like "I" therefore there is 10 letters in "ten letters"

    u do know.. that Ten Letters is actually ELEVEN right? Spaces do count as characters

    you guys are fighting over the fact that characters are not letters. I remember back in kindergarden my teacher taught me that there are 26 letters in the alphabet, she never mentioned characters as part of the alphabet though...

    A letter space is a letter, thats why its also considered a character.

    Plus, u cant use a the word to discribe a word in definition. A word space can only be defined as a word in a sentence, it cannot exist without a proper definition. Kinda like how babies have a working circulatory system for 21 days before a heart is actually developed.
