My opinion is simple: Establishing a whites only league on the grounds that he proposes is stupid, and only perpetuates race. If the NBA would impose stiffer penatiles to the players for their ignorance, then you would see a change. Oh, and BTW, blacks aren't the only ones playing "street-ball" on the courts.

The typical IA rebuttal will be that blacks have HBCU's, NAACP, Scholarships, and other minority BS Just remember, none of those organizations are CLOSED to any race/creed/color; never have or never will be.

i dont like watching basketball, but a majority of basketball players are black or another race. Its going to fall apart within one season and everyone will forget about it and just be liek "what a dumb idea"

Uh, actually the Negro League was created because black people weren't allowed to play in majors, only the minors. There were under 10 black players in the "League" after the Civil War. By 1890, there were none. Throughout the late 1800s there were black teams formed so they could play. Once Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in 1946, all other blacks were "allowed" to play in the majors. All the talent went to the majors, which in turn took the Negro League fan base.

Very different scenario. People follow the sport, not the color of the players. When the game becomes unfair, the fans will speak. This all-white league....

Anyway...not a gimmick.

I didn't read the article but I can guess what it's about.

It just so happens the best basketball players are black. The best hockey players are white Europeans. So what talent is talent.

I will agree a lot of fundamentals have left the game since Jordan magic and bird retired. The game is much more fast paced, more physical, rules are much more relaxes in terms of fouls and travelling, carrying, double dribble etc but it sells tickets. The NBA decided to do all that years ago to attract fans and if it worked the players adapt.

It's not their fault.

A whites only league is retarded why have a second rate league. Why have a league for mediocrity. No if you want more whites in basketball practice more, period. I don't believe blacks are superior in terms of skill I think everyone is equal. They just play more than white Americans IMO

um you obviously don't watch basketball. Bird was a great outside three pointer but he was also well known for his rebounding and unselfish team play. Also he was one of the leagues best defenders ever. Not bad for a hick from French lick

it's actually a good social study if you look at why predominantly sports athletes are black.

This is the truth. I kinda believe that its partially due to the fact that its easy to come across a ball that can bounce and a goal attatched to a pole sticking out of the ground. It's a cheap sport to pass the time and it does not require a lot of space to play. I used to play in my driveway. You cant do that with baseball, hockey, or football. As long as you have room to dribble and a goal you're good. thats all you need to master your craft.

Premiere athletes outside the US play football... aka soccer... thats why America will never be Great in soccer... premiere athletes in the USA go to B-ball and American football.
