    Default Smoke on startup....??

Freshly rebuilt GSR is smoking pretty bad when i start it COLD and once it warms up for a few minutes the blue smoke seems to go away. Im suspecting maybe valve stem seals b/c i didnt use oem honda ones when it was rebuilt but i dunno. Havent done a compression test yet since rebuild and i have 1200 miles on it.

Engine was run for a few minutes and then driven down the block then i changed the oil after 10 miles. It was broken in fairly easy with a little revving not past 5k for 500 miles or so with mobil 1 5w30 dino oil and then occasional vtec after about 600 miles and currently i been driving it pretty hard with 10w30 dino oil with no major smoke in vtec or at high rpms but alot of blue smoke on a cold start. Seems to have burned up a half a qt of oil in a couple hundred miles though? is this possible due to something in the head?

Any ideas or input is appreciated, mind you this engine was built right everything plastigauged and all clearances in spec per alldata and honda manuals.

    (81.50mm bore)
    rs machine pistons (STOCK COMPRESSION)
    OEM rod bearings
    ACL RACE main bearings
    All new gaskets seals etc....
    head resurfaced
    New belts and so on.....

im gonna say valve stem seals just bc you said it goes away after it idels for a while. oil gets through, builds up in the cylinder. burns off when you crank it.

what kind of valve stem seals did you use?
