Girls Drift team
If any one is interested or knows anyone who is, we are putting together an all womens drift team. The women will build the car as well as drive it in competition. We supply the car and the power plant, you provide the labor and competitive spirit. If interested please Email Kelly @ [email protected].

And to you other girls posting in this thread, I have tried to make an all girl team but found it hard to even find a female who can drive a stick for crying out loud. Even when I was going to be on Bullrun I couldn't find a female in the whole state of GA who could go and drive a stick.

ive driven a stage 5, but nothing more.
I'm down, and I can drive stick better than most of the boys I hang with.
I wish everyone would have been so forthcoming when I was desperately looking for a chick to be on Bullrun with me. I ended up with a girl from PA.
Either way, for something like this you can be taught how to drive a stick over time. So this is an awesome opportunity! For Bullrun it just all happened very quickly.

Yeah, are you all going to let any girls run? I mean SOME talent has to already exist. The thing in motorsport is you can't build up hype then have a shitty lineup and get better, by the time you get better nobody cares anymore, all they do is flock to when you once sucked. Just saying it'd make sense to enter a competition with a large boom. At least then build your driver lineup after you already have a strong reputation.

LOL, I'm one of the girls who can't drive a stick, but I am definitely willing and able to learn! That is actually one of my goals is to learn to drive a stick and learn how to drift!!!
As for the person who said you need to start out strong, I definitely agree! Just start out with the strongest people, have the rest of us there for support, and then add people as they become ready! Simple.
I understand everyone's perspective, starting off strong and all. The way I see it is... If the girls are just out there learning and entering grassroots events, they're going to improve regardless. I know some will be better drivers than others but this is about having fun, as much as it is, facilitating and building interest in female drifting. Competition can always come later. [I know we are in the competition section.]
This is a team building effort and building a strong team takes time and effort. We will certainly support the talents of any and all females who apply. There is room for the experienced as well as the novice. The team will build a car(s), learn to drive it and compete in it. It is very grass roots. We don't strive to be famous or even be contenders in the field the first season. We plan to open opportunities that females haven't had as a rule. Some will stick with it, some will break a nail and go home. Those who stick with it though will have their inner "car girl" nurtured and taught. It's gonna be a great time. Of that I have no doubt. There is enough female talent in this town to blast out, but premature anything satisfies no one in the long run. This team is going to be built, like a car, from the ground up, slowly and with a real purpose; to empower women first and to win second. It is what it is.
I will say that when I go to Cali for Formula D events it is awesome to have other girl drivers surrounding you. They can explain things in a way men just can't. Not to mention is is less intimidating.
I would love to get my g/f involved in this. I think with a little help and effort she could really succeed in something like this. I will try to have her email or PM. She is on IA too.

This IMO is just kind of weird to have guys involved and running it...
My wife Kelly is running it. The only involvement the men will have is our shop space and instruction assistance, if asked. This is a good thing, not a sick way to fill our shop with T&A. Too busy for that. Kelly's been in this business for over 20 years and has always encouraged, mentored and taught females who were interested. A man probably couldn't pull it off, my money is on Kelly to do it right.
Where is the shop where this is going to be done located? I have been talking to Alyssa throughout the day, and she is interested in doing it. She is very much a beginner, but a very quick learner and I think she is a lot more capable than she gives herself credit for. Anyway, where is it located plays a big role!
