    Pronouncing the "D" in "Brand" is normal but when the word "new" is added it changes the dynamic of the word making it a phrase with a "D" that can be bothersome to pronounce.

    I say the D very softly, but just in general, saying brand right before new kind of naturally softens and hides the D. Try saying "brand spanking new" and the D comes out how it is spelled, or at least it does for me.
